Google AI updates: Bard and new AI features in Search

Google brings its ChatGPT rival Bard

Google introduced its own Generative AI called BARD. I wouldn't say it's a response to ChatGPT (though the timing suggests so), but it's a natural extension to Google's products!

I believe the usefulness of technologies such as ChatGPT or BARD is essentially to power other services, and not be a service in itself.  That's where Google has an advantage over competitors like OpenAI.

The most obvious integration for Bard is Google Search.  If done properly, it will change the entire search experience.  Users will not need to visit multiple pages to synthesise information.  All this will be done by Bard on the search page itself.

Other places where Google could integrate BARD are Google Home, Maps, Gmail, etc. The applications are endless.  And with their Play Store and the millions of apps in it, they essentially enable developers to build kickass applications on top of BARD. This is what puts Google ahead of OpenAI and other smaller players.

Also, I'm not a big fan of the name - 'Bard' Wished it was named something cooler!
